Where are you?

I love writing this blog. One of the reasons I love writing it is getting feedback and interacting with people- loved ones and new ones. I also get some technical feedback on the site, number of visits, times people visit, etc. One of the features of this reporting is that I'm able to see the countries people are viewing from. Weekly, I see readers from Canada, China, Australia, Japan, Italy, the States etc. It's amazing to me. So here's my question to you...(and I think I can ask this b/c everyone knows every blasted detail of my life if they're reading this with any regularity....)

Where in the world are you? And what did you have for dinner last night? Don't be shy. 'Fess up.

I'll go first. I was in Buenos Aires on my way through to Montevideo. I had a fantastic traditional Argentinian dinner of "Chinchulines" (apologies to all Argentinians if I've butchered the spelling) which are the large intenstines of milk-fed calves, some unidentified "gland", and wonderful beef ribs. All this was accompanied by a really nice bottle of Malbec from the Mendosa region. I basically rolled onto the ferry to Uruguay.

Okay, that's just annoying.

I had spaghetti yet AGAIN. Spaghetti is the only thing standing between Max and scurvy. We eat a lot of spaghetti sauce laden with squash, broccoli, carrots etc. I'm so sick of spaghetti.

Hey Mara,

I think I would rather have eaten your dinner last night- not the intestine part of Rob's! I'm sure some people would argue with me.... I'm just hesitant about the insides of the intestine...
I'm having spaghetti tonight....

Bring on the glands and intestines with the Malbec.

Thank you Kim. I stand in spaghetti solidarity with you, sistah.

Peter- that's just the international banker in you talking....or maybe it's the Cape Breton/barefoot childhood thing again.

We must have telepathy as I'm going to write about blogging and connecting too, although not about dinner last night. A bad Mexican dinner at a restaurant that gave me a stomach ache.

International cuisine is our favorite, but last night just regular barbecued hot dogs during family night at the elementary school. I think there's some intestine involved in those too though, right? Oh, what I would have given for some Thai food!

Dinner last night,eh? Okay, I had a little bowl (almost wrote "bowel" - must be the intestine thread) of warmed up casserole that had ground beef, rice, cheddar cheese and mushroom soup all mixed together. Quite good actually - out of our Milk Cookbook - one of our comfort foods. I ate it in the car - yes, while driving (I shouldn't be admitting this - I hope my kids don't see this blog)to a dress rehearsal for a play I'm in in Newmarket. Finished it off with a Honey Crisp apple - and a couple of those little Halloween bars of Oh Henry. I think I would have preferred the gelato, though.

Ok, since you asked...a new Earth Fare grocery store opened up this week in my little town in TN. I had a wholesome supper of whole wheat tortillas with goat cheese, fresh avocado, and ripe tomatoes. Yum. I topped it off with a fresh apple pie with caramel sauce from my sister-in-law. Yum,yum.
We'removing to Panama next June! I have a lifetime of stuff to sell..want any of it?

Hi there. My first time to visit (but I'll be back) - saw you on expat-blogs. Enjoyed reading back a bit! I'm also Canadian, living in Malaysia. I had chicken satay last night!

Hey there,
I just found your blog-it's great. Especially all the pics of your kids and how they are getting on. I am also Canadian and making the big move with kids right after Christmas-to the interior though.
Last night for dinner??? Pork chops with mushroom gravy and a green salad. Spaghetti is sounding good for tonight-lol.

Hi Tracey,

That's great that you're moving to Panama- it's a nice place to live. Feel free to email me directly if I can help with any info. It's a pretty small country but there are some really fun off-the-beaten track things to do with kids.

Hey Rob and Mara! I'm a few weeks behind (lost all my contact info). Ok, so here's my contribution. I am in Norway and I ate REINDEER for dinner last night. Yup, real reindeer. I decided to roll the cherry tomatoe over from the other side of my plate, so that is actually looked like Rudolph (don't tell Zella...)
